The procedure is a fairly simple; we use an ear irrigation machine that has a controllable flow rate to gently wash the built up wax out of your ears. Ear irrigation used to be known as syringing whereby a large metal syringe would be used to wash out the ears. This method was discontinued as the flow rate could not be controlled and in some cases, caused burst ear drums.
The method of using an ear irrigation machine machine is much safer and the results are much better. Some people can feel a little discomfort and occasionally it may make you cough or feel dizzy for a few seconds but this is balanced by the joy of getting all that pesky ear wax out.
We have all the equipment that is needed and just ask that you have a towel on hand to place around your neck, a jug of warm water, a dining type chair for you sit on and an electric point in order for me to plug in the machine.
Usually a consultation will last between 30 and 45 minutes depending on how badly the ears are blocked with wax. Upon arrival for your appointment, we will examine your ears by looking for signs of infection.
We will need to know of any ear issues or problems you may have had in the past before carrying out the ear wax irrigation service.
All treatments are recorded for future reference should there be any issues and you are provided with after care advice to ensure peace of mind.
We can perform ear wax removal as long as you:
We will cover North Staffordshire, Cheshire East, and Stoke-On-Trent including the Staffordshire Moorlands.
Further distances are negotiable with a discretionary additional fee for travel if required.
